After many years we have determined that it is time to phase out the Medical Equipment Loan ministry. We are dependant upon equipment donations to be able to keep the ministry going and we haven’t had donations in several months. We are also short of volunteers to keep it up. 

We are no longer accepting donations of medical equipment.

Here are several sources that lend or rent medical equipment that might be helpful:

  • Health Equipment Lending Program by AGE of Central Texas:  The Health Equipment Lending Program (HELP) offers no-cost, long-term loans of durable medical equipment to elderly and disabled individuals across Central Texas. Call 512-600-9288 or email equipment@ageofcentraltx.org to apply.
  • Ollie’s Lending Closet: Ollie’s Lending maintains a medical equipment lending closet. Ollie’s Lending Closet loans out walkers, wheelchairs, and other durable medical and mobility equipment. Call 512-310-1060 to get more info. This program covers residents of the following counties: Bastrop County, TX, Blanco County, TX, Burnet County, TX, Caldwell County, TX, Fayette County, TX, Hays County, TX, Lee County, TX, Llano County, TX, Travis County, TX and Williamson County, TX.

  • Medicare.gov:  Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers wheelchairs and power-operated vehicles (scooters) as durable medical equipment (DME) that your doctor prescribes for use in your home. You must have a face-to-face examination and a written prescription from a doctor or other treating provider before Medicare covers a power wheelchair or scooter. Part B covers power wheelchairs only when they’re medically necessary.
